     Nancy Brashear was born on 16 March 1773 in Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of William Brashear Sr and Sarah (?) Nancy Brashear married Anthony Phelps on 24 December 1794 in Jefferson County, Kentucky. On 27 July 1855 Nancy was granted a pension for her husband Anthony Phelps for his service in the Revolutionary War. The pension granted was in the annual amount of 25.64 and apparently was retroactive to 4 March 1831. Nancy (Brashear) Phelps was widowed with the death of Anthony Phelps on 30 June 1859 in Larue County, Kentucky.

Nancy (Brashear) Phelps died on 29 July 1861 in Larue County, Kentucky, at age 88. She was buried in Barren Run Cemetery, Larue County, Kentucky.

     Anthony Phelps was born in 1762 in Buckingham County, Virginia. He began military service on 1 October 1777 in Buckingham County, Virginia, as a volunteer under Captain Richards May. He traveled to Kings Mills on the Holdston River and remained there about four weeks and then went to Boonsboro, Kentucky around the last of November 1777 where he remained for about 16 months and served under Colonel Daniel Boone in August 1778. Boonsboro was besieged by Indians when he arrived and he "fought them for nine days and nights without ceasing." In 1779 he assisted in erecting a Garrison at the Falls of the Ohio River under the command of Captain James Patton. In March 1780 he joined the company of Captain Owens as a private in the Regiment of Kentucky Volunteers which was commanded by General George Rogers Clark. He traveled with Clark to the mouth of Mayfield Creek on the Mississippi River and erected a Garrison and remained there until June 1781. He ended military service on 1 August 1781 at Kentucky when he was honorably discharged and mustered out subject to recall if needed. He was called back into military service in April 1782 at Kentucky under the command of Captain Jacob Vanmeter. He marched with Camptain Vanmeter to the Falls of the Ohio and assisted in building another Garrison at that locaton. He ended military service for the second time in July 1782 at Clark County, Kentucky. He married Nancy Brashear, daughter of William Brashear Sr and Sarah (?), on 24 December 1794 in Jefferson County, Kentucky.

Anthony Phelps died on 30 June 1859 in Larue County, Kentucky.

     Mary Ann Brashear was born after 1774. She was the daughter of William Brashear Sr and Sarah (?) Mary Ann Brashear married Joshua Anderson in 1794. Mary Ann Brashear married Eleazer Thompson on 6 October 1796 in Nelson County, Kentucky.

     Nettie D Hommel was born in January 1854 in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Henry Hommel and Lizzie (?) Nettie D Hommel married Reed S Nichols, son of Jonathan B Nichols and Agness C Crutchfield, on 30 July 1876 in Danville, Boyle County, Kentucky.
