     William L Mathes was born on 23 January 1808 in Corydon, Harrison County, Indiana. He was the son of Alexander Mathes and Jane Lashbrook. He may have married twice, first to Nancy Ann Smit on 5 April 1840, and then to Eliza Jane Windel on 10 May 1855. This may also have been Eliza’s second marriage with her first to a Mr. Mauck. Eliza was born on 2 September 1827 and apparently died about ten years after William in Cass County Nebraska on 15 July 1888. William was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon, Indiana. Eliza was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Nehawka in Cass County, Nebraska. It is possible that Eliza moved to Nebraska to be with or near their son Henry F. Mathes who was living in Nebraska at the time. Nehawka was platted in 1887 when a new railroad line was extended to that point. It derives its name from an Omaha and Otoe Indian Name meaning “rustling water.

William L Mathes died on 28 August 1878 in Harrison County, Indiana, at age 70.

     John Mathes was born on 10 June 1810 in Shelby County, Kentucky. He was the son of Alexander Mathes and Jane Lashbrook. John Mathes married Permelia Stevens in 1837. John Mathes was widowed with the death of Permelia Stevens on 28 January 1861 in Harrison County, Indiana.

John Mathes died on 22 July 1897 in Corydon, Harrison County, Indiana, at age 87.

     Polly Ann Mathes was born on 26 October 1813. She was the daughter of Alexander Mathes and Jane Lashbrook.

Polly Ann Mathes died on 6 October 1838 at age 24.

     Elizabeth Mathes was born on 30 May 1816. She was the daughter of Alexander Mathes and Jane Lashbrook.

Elizabeth Mathes died on 7 September 1837 at age 21.

     Floyd Davis Mathes was born on 14 March 1820. He was the son of Alexander Mathes and Jane Lashbrook.

Floyd Davis Mathes died on 18 September 1840 at age 20.

     Nancy Mathes was born on 15 April 1822 in Harrison County, Indiana. She was the daughter of Alexander Mathes and Jane Lashbrook. She married Hardin McMaha on 9 October 1845 in Harrison County. Hardin was born on 14 July 1825 in Harrison County and died on 19 August 1906 in Missouri. He was the son of John McMaha and Martha Wither. Nancy died on 17 April 1911 in Coffey County, Kansas and was buried in the Bowmann and Adgate Cemetery in Ottumwa in Coffey County where all of her three daughters are buried. Hardin and Nancy had at least three children including Sarah Permelia McMahan, Dianna V. Jane McMahan, and Nancy Haredin McMahan.

Nancy Mathes died on 17 April 1911 in Coffey County, Kansas, at age 89.

     Mary Morton was born on 29 November 1800 in Virginia the daughter of Robert and Mary Morton.

Mary Morton married Peter Lee Lashbrooke, son of John J Lashbrooke and Leannah Leary Lee, on 30 October 1822 in Mason County, Kentucky.

Mary (Morton) Lashbrook died on 8 April 1829 in Kentucky at age 28. She was buried in Lashbrooke Cemetery, Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky.

     Mary Leannah Lashbrooke was born on 16 July 1823 in Mason County, Kentucky, in the family residence. She was the daughter of Peter Lee Lashbrooke and Mary Morton. Mary Leannah Lashbrooke married Charles Edward Dimmitt on 16 September 1856 in Mason County, Kentucky, at the home of Peter Lashbrook. According to census records Mary Leannah and Charles had at least six children including Charles S. Dimmit, Maddison S. Dimmit, Anna Dimmit, Mary Morton Dimmit, Peter L. Dimmit, and Martha Will Dimmitt.

Mary Leannah Lashbrooke died on 22 October 1906 in Mason County, Kentucky, at age 83 at 1:30 in the afternoon at her home near Bernard. She was buried in Dimmitt Family Cemetery, Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky.

     Frances Agnes Lashbrooke was born on 27 January 1825 in Mason County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Peter Lee Lashbrooke and Mary Morton. On 11 January 1911 Francees fell while walking in her yard. According to her death certificate her health continued to decline after being disabled from the fall which likely broke her hip.

Frances Agnes Lashbrooke died on 25 April 1911 in Mason County, Kentucky, at age 86 at the home of her brother Thomas Morton Lashbrooke in the Lewisburg neighborhood at 1:10 in the afternoon after a protracted illness. She was buried in Lashbrooke Cemetery, Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky.

     Edward L Lashbrooke was born on 20 April 1827 in Mason County, Kentucky. He was the son of Peter Lee Lashbrooke and Mary Morton. Edward registered for the Civil War Draft while living in Thibodaux in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. Edward was a physician at that time and served as a doctor in the Confederate Army. Edward was married. His wife’s name was Julia Lashbrook and they had at least one child named Edward L. Lashbrooke.

Edward L Lashbrooke died on 20 May 1868 at age 41 either in Alabama or in Thibadaux, Louisiana. He was buried in Saint John's Cemetery, Thibodaux, Louisana.

     John Robert Lashbrooke was born on 31 March 1829 in Mason County, Kentucky. He was the son of Peter Lee Lashbrooke and Mary Morton. John was a member of one of the oldest and most esteemed families in Mason County. He never married.

John Robert Lashbrooke died on 17 April 1892 in Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky, at age 63 shortly after 8:00 in the evening at his home near Lewisburg from Rbeumatism of the heart following two falls in the past year. The first occurred from an accident that led to a fractured collar bone followed shortly thereafterwards when he slipped and fell breaking one of his thighs. He never fully recovered from these injuries and the illness that followed. He was buried in Lashbrooke Cemetery, Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky.

     Phillip Johnson married Rebecca Bennett.

     Rebecca Bennett was born in 1805. She married Phillip Johnson.

Rebecca Bennett died on 12 May 1874 in Daviess County, Kentucky.

     Easther Hetty Hopkins was born on 4 April 1792 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. She married John Lashbrooks, son of William J. Lashbrooks and Dorothy Dolly Crecelius, on 22 June 1814 in Harrison County, Indiana.

Easther (Hopkins) Lashbrook died on 11 July 1873 in French Lick, Orange County, Indiana, at age 81.

     William L Lashbrooks was born on 3 October 1815 in Farm, Orange County, Indiana. He was the son of John Lashbrooks and Easther Hetty Hopkins.

William L Lashbrooks died on 3 November 1887 in French Lick, Orange County, Indiana, at age 72.

     John Lashbrooks was born on 17 April 1818 in Orange County, Indiana. He was the son of John Lashbrooks and Easther Hetty Hopkins. John married Elizabeth Dillard Kearb on 27 September 1840 in Orange County. Elizabeth was born on 16 June 1822 in Orange County. She was the daughter of Richard L. Kearb and Nancy Jane Dea. Elizabeth died seven days later on 11 August in Orange County. John and Elizabeth were both buried in Moores Ridge Cemetery in French Lick. They had at least ten children including Rebecca Lashbrook, Hester A. Lashbrook, Hiram Alexander Lashbrook, Susan Mary Lashbrook, Nancy Ellen Lashbrook, Priscilla Rhoda Lashbrook, Rachel Lashbrook, Charles Richard Lashbrook, James Dillard Lashbrook, and Sarah Lashbrooks.

John Lashbrooks died on 4 August 1896 in French Lick, Orange County, Indiana, at age 78.

     Mary Ann Lashbrook was born on 20 March 1823 in Orange County, Indiana. She was the daughter of John Lashbrooks and Easther Hetty Hopkins.

Mary Ann Lashbrook died on 27 February 1897 in French Lick, Orange County, Indiana, at age 73.

     Wesley Lashbrooks was born on 22 March 1824 in Orange County, Indiana. He was the son of John Lashbrooks and Easther Hetty Hopkins. He married Rachel Morgan on 11 October 1847 in Orange County.
She was born on 20 February 1828 in Orange County and was the daughter of Louis Morgan and Elizabeth Alburn. Rachel died on 14 December 1854 in Orange County and was buried in Moores Ridge Cemetery. Wesley married Perline Tillery on 10 April 1856 in Orange County. She was the daughter of John Tillery, Rebecca Turner. Rebecca died on 12 March 1857 and was also buried in Moores Ridge Cemetery. Wesley married a third time to Elizabeth Jane Hawkins Winningham, the widow of Alfred M. Winningha, Alfred, on 24 March 1859 in Orange County. She was born on 19 September 1836 and died on 9 April 1915. Wesley and Rachel had at least two children including Solomon D. Lashbrook, and George Franklin Lashbrook. Wesley and Elizabeth Jane had at least six children including Eliza Jane Lashbrook, Mary A. Lashbrook, Wesley Harrison Lashbrook, Joseph H. Lashbrook, Aalus Esther Lashbrook, and Daniel F. Lashbrooks.

Wesley Lashbrooks died on 4 September 1894 in French Lick, Orange County, Indiana, at age 70.

     Hiram Lashbrooks was born on 10 October 1825 in Orange County, Indiana. He was the son of John Lashbrooks and Easther Hetty Hopkins. Hiram married Priscilla H. Kearb on 20 June 1850 in Orange County. She was born on 1 February 1836 in Orange County and was the daughter of Richard L. Kearb and Nancy Jane Dea. Hiram was a farmer and operated a quarry. He died on 6 December 1897 in French Lick in Orange County. Priscilla’s obituary indicated she had at least ten children, fifty grandchildren and fifty-six great-grandchildren still living at the time of her death on 17 April 1913 in French Lick. Hiram and Priscilla were both buried in Moores Ridge Cemetery. Their children included Margaret J. Lashbrook, Sarah Ann Lashbrook, John Wesley Lashbrook, Enoch Richard Lashbrook, William H. Lashbrook, Leroy Lincoln Lashbrook, James Clinton Lashbrook, Susan Mary Lashbrook, Hester A. Lashbrook, and Nancy Ellen Lashbrooks.

Hiram Lashbrooks died on 6 December 1897 in French Lick, Orange County, Indiana, at age 72.

     Nancy E Lashbrooks was born on 4 February 1831 in Orange County, Indiana. She was the daughter of John Lashbrooks and Easther Hetty Hopkins.

Nancy E Lashbrooks died on 7 May 1886 in French Lick, Orange County, Indiana, at age 55. Her death date is somewhat in question. It is listed as 7 May 1888 in Book H-18, page 92 of the Indiana Works Progress Administration Records. It is inscribed as 7 May 1886 on her gravestone. Thus she died in Orange County either on 7 May 1888 or 7 May 1886. She was buried in Moores Ridge Cemetery.

     Julia Ann Lashbrooks was born on 26 May 1833 in Indiana. She was the daughter of John Lashbrooks and Easther Hetty Hopkins. Her date of birth is somewhat in question. Her death date is inscribed on her gravestone as 17 March 1872 along with what appears to be “aged 38y 10m 23d.” Using this to calculate a date birth one arrives at 23 April 1833. However the Find A Grave entry is listed as 26 May 1833.

Julia Ann Lashbrooks died on 17 March 1872 in French Lick, Orange County, Indiana, at age 38.

     Bartemus Acton was born on 25 April 1799 in Charles County, Maryland. He married Sarah Ann Sallie Robey on 27 June 1825 in Charles County, Maryland. Bartemus Acton was widowed with the death of Sarah Ann Sallie Robey on 19 June 1849 in Sulphur Springs, Ohio County, Kentucky. Bartemus Acton married Eliza Statler on 29 November 1851.

Bartemus Acton died on 31 March 1868 in Sulphur Springs, Ohio County, Kentucky, at age 68. He was buried in Beane Cemetery, Ohio County, Kentucky.

     Sarah Ann Sallie Robey was born on 6 June 1809 in Charles County, Maryland. She married Bartemus Acton on 27 June 1825 in Charles County, Maryland.

Sarah Ann Sallie Robey died on 19 June 1849 in Sulphur Springs, Ohio County, Kentucky, at age 40. She was buried in Bean Cemetery, Ohio County, Kentucky.

     Sullivan Williams married Lucy Swope.

     Eva Donnie Sprouse was born in 1879 in Warren County, Kentucky, the daughtere of Henry Clay Sprouse and Nancy Horton. She married Boardly Evans Maxey, son of Warren Woodson Maxey and Cornelia Frances Shields, in 1903.

Eva Donnie Sprouse died in 1955 in Warren County, Kentucky. She was buried in Highland Cemetery, Hadley, Warren County, Kentucky.

     Floyd B Maxey was born in 1907 in Warren County, Kentucky. He was the son of Boardly Evans Maxey and Eva Donnie Sprouse.

     Lydia Maxey was born in 1908 in Warren County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Boardly Evans Maxey and Eva Donnie Sprouse.

     Mildred Schlensker was born in 1903 in Kentucky. She married Shelby Bell, son of Robert Lee Bell and Lena Rivers Campbell, in 1926. Mildred (Schlensker) Bell and Shelby Bell lived in April 1930 at Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, at 620 Seventh Street.

     Mable chissom was born on 13 November 1882 in Daviess County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Clay Chissom and Ary E Wilkerson. A bond for the marriage of Mable chissom and Moody Birkhead was signed on 3 October 1906 in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, by Moody Birkhead and R.L. Allen in the sum of one hundred dollars. Mable chissom married Moody Birkhead, son of James Lemuel Birkhead and Veatress Victoria Griffin, on 3 October 1906 in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, by H.E. Gabby in the presence of Lydia Birkhead and Clay Chissom.

Mable (Chissom) Birkhead died on 7 September 1946 in Spencer County, Indiana, at age 63.
