     William L Mathes was born on 23 January 1808 in Corydon, Harrison County, Indiana. He was the son of Alexander Mathes and Jane Lashbrook. He may have married twice, first to Nancy Ann Smit on 5 April 1840, and then to Eliza Jane Windel on 10 May 1855. This may also have been Eliza’s second marriage with her first to a Mr. Mauck. Eliza was born on 2 September 1827 and apparently died about ten years after William in Cass County Nebraska on 15 July 1888. William was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon, Indiana. Eliza was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Nehawka in Cass County, Nebraska. It is possible that Eliza moved to Nebraska to be with or near their son Henry F. Mathes who was living in Nebraska at the time. Nehawka was platted in 1887 when a new railroad line was extended to that point. It derives its name from an Omaha and Otoe Indian Name meaning “rustling water.

Hardin was born on 14 July 1825 in Harrison County and died on 19 August 1906 in Missouri. He was the son of John McMaha and Martha Wither. Nancy died on 17 April 1911 in Coffey County, Kansas and was buried in the Bowmann and Adgate Cemetery in Ottumwa in Coffey County where all of her three daughters are buried. Hardin and Nancy had at least three children including Sarah Permelia McMahan, Dianna V. Jane McMahan, and Nancy Haredin McMahan.

Nancy Mathes died on 17 April 1911 in Coffey County, Kansas, at age 89.

According to census records Mary Leannah and Charles had at least six children including Charles S. Dimmit, Maddison S. Dimmit, Anna Dimmit, Mary Morton Dimmit, Peter L. Dimmit, and Martha Will Dimmitt.

Mary Leannah Lashbrooke died on 22 October 1906 in Mason County, Kentucky, at age 83 at 1:30 in the afternoon at her home near Bernard. She was buried in Dimmitt Family Cemetery, Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky.

Frances Agnes Lashbrooke died on 25 April 1911 in Mason County, Kentucky, at age 86 at the home of her brother Thomas Morton Lashbrooke in the Lewisburg neighborhood at 1:10 in the afternoon after a protracted illness. She was buried in Lashbrooke Cemetery, Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky.

Edward registered for the Civil War Draft while living in Thibodaux in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. Edward was a physician at that time and served as a doctor in the Confederate Army. Edward was married. His wife’s name was Julia Lashbrook and they had at least one child named Edward L. Lashbrooke.

Edward L Lashbrooke died on 20 May 1868 at age 41 either in Alabama or in Thibadaux, Louisiana. He was buried in Saint John's Cemetery, Thibodaux, Louisana.

John Robert Lashbrooke

     John Robert Lashbrooke was born on 31 March 1829 in Mason County, Kentucky. He was the son of Peter Lee Lashbrooke and Mary Morton. John was a member of one of the oldest and most esteemed families in Mason County. He never married.

John Robert Lashbrooke died on 17 April 1892 in Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky, at age 63 shortly after 8:00 in the evening at his home near Lewisburg from Rbeumatism of the heart following two falls in the past year. The first occurred from an accident that led to a fractured collar bone followed shortly thereafterwards when he slipped and fell breaking one of his thighs. He never fully recovered from these injuries and the illness that followed. He was buried in Lashbrooke Cemetery, Maysville, Mason County, Kentucky.

Wesley married Perline Tillery on 10 April 1856 in Orange County. She was the daughter of John Tillery, Rebecca Turner. Rebecca died on 12 March 1857 and was also buried in Moores Ridge Cemetery. Wesley married a third time to Elizabeth Jane Hawkins Winningham, the widow of Alfred M. Winningha, Alfred, on 24 March 1859 in Orange County. She was born on 19 September 1836 and died on 9 April 1915. Wesley and Rachel had at least two children including Solomon D. Lashbrook, and George Franklin Lashbrook. Wesley and Elizabeth Jane had at least six children including Eliza Jane Lashbrook, Mary A. Lashbrook, Wesley Harrison Lashbrook, Joseph H. Lashbrook, Aalus Esther Lashbrook, and Daniel F. Lashbrooks.

Wesley Lashbrooks died on 4 September 1894 in French Lick, Orange County, Indiana, at age 70.

Hiram Lashbrooks

Kearb on 20 June 1850 in Orange County. She was born on 1 February 1836 in Orange County and was the daughter of Richard L. Kearb and Nancy Jane Dea. Hiram was a farmer and operated a quarry. He died on 6 December 1897 in French Lick in Orange County. Priscilla’s obituary indicated she had at least ten children, fifty grandchildren and fifty-six great-grandchildren still living at the time of her death on 17 April 1913 in French Lick. Hiram and Priscilla were both buried in Moores Ridge Cemetery. Their children included Margaret J. Lashbrook, Sarah Ann Lashbrook, John Wesley Lashbrook, Enoch Richard Lashbrook, William H. Lashbrook, Leroy Lincoln Lashbrook, James Clinton Lashbrook, Susan Mary Lashbrook, Hester A. Lashbrook, and Nancy Ellen Lashbrooks.

Hiram Lashbrooks died on 6 December 1897 in French Lick, Orange County, Indiana, at age 72.
