James secured approximately seventy eight acres of land from the Crawfordsville Land Office on 3 September 1834. He was living in Morgan County at the time. The plot of land was described as the East half of the South East quarter of Section Seven in Township Eleven North of Range One East in the district of Lands subject to sale at Crawfordsville, Indiana containing seventy eight acres and eighty-two hundredths of an acre. Elizabeth may have died on 4 November 1887 in Orange County, Indiana.

John and Nancy had at least twelve children including John Thomas Lashbrook, Elizabeth Ann Lashbrooks, Nancy Jane Lashbrook, Amanda M. Lashbrook, Louisa Adeline Lashbrook, Samuel A. Lashbrook, James W. Lashbrook, Susan May Lashbrook, Sarah Mariah Lashbrook, Lucinda C. Lashbrook, Jeffery Franklin Lashbrook, and Clara Isabelle Lashbrook.

Clarissa Lashbrook

She married James Gilmore Wyli on 25 March 1823 in Spencer County, Indiana. James was born on 8 October 1804 and died on 27 October 1880. He was buried in Salem Cemetery in Center in Ralls County, Missouri. Clarissa died in 1873. Ralls County was one of several counties on the Mississippi River settled primarily by migrants from Kentucky and Tennessee who brought slaves and slaveholding traditions with them. After Clarissa died James married Adazilla Jone who was born on 3 October 1847 and died on 22 June 1919. James left a will in on 19 September 1878 appointing his wife Adazilla as executor along with his son George W. Wyli to assist her in managing the settlement. He essentially left all of his estate to Adazilla with the stipulation that if she re-married she was to be entitled to one-third of his estate with the remainder reverting back to his heirs. Adazilla married Edwin Hubbar on 1 December 1881 in Ralls County, Missouri, less than two months after the death of James.

Clarissa Lashbrook died on 15 March 1873 in Home Madisonville Ralls, Ralls County, Missouri, at age 66. Clarissa and James had at least twelve children including Linda Mira Wylie, Amanda Melvina Fitzallen Wylie, Madison Wright Wylie, Pleasant Cox Wylie, Sarah Ann Elizabeth Wylie, Mary Martha Wylie, Louisa Theodosia Wylie, George Washington Bird Wylie, Laura Lucille Wylie, Thomas Jefferson Wylie, James Wylie, and Emma Belinda Wylie.

Mary was born in 1830 and died in 1918. She was buried in Mount Cemetery in Johnson Township in Clark County. Thomas and Mary had at least eight children including Sarah Lucinda Lashbrook, Daniel Lewis Lashbrook, John Thomas Lashbrook, George W. Lashbrook, James G. Lashbrook, Ida May Lashbrook, Sophia A.      George W Lashbrook was born in 1818 in Spencer County, Kentucky. He was the son of Thomas Lashbrook and Elizabeth Elliott. He married Nancy Galbreat on 12 March 1840 in Coles County, Illinois. Nancy was born in 1824 in Scott County, Illinois and died on 5 May 1886 in Ashmore Township in Coles County. She was the daughter of John Galbreat and Polly Ann Keit. It is possible that both George and Nancy were buried in the Mitchell Cemetery in Ashmore. However, there are no headstones to confirm either burial. In 1860 George owned a farm in Ashmore in Coles County that contained 40 acres of improved land and 40 acres of unimproved land valued at $800. Farm implements and machinery on the farm were valued at $60. There were 21 horses, 21 milk cows, two other cows, four sheep and four swine with a total value of livestock of $200. The farm produced 20 bushels of wheat and 400 bushels of oats. By 1870 his farm contained 28 acres of improved land, and 52 acres of unimproved land and the value of the farm had increased to $2,400. There were two horses, and four swine valued at $200 and the farm produced 30 bushels of rye and 300 bushels of Indian corn. Forty three pounds of wool were produced along with 39 pounds of hops, and 27 gallons of molasses. Fifty dollars’ worth of animals were slaughtered or sold to slaughter and the total value of all farm production was listed as $105. George and Nancy had at least five children including Maria Ellen Lashbrook, Clarinda Lashbrook, Thomas Jarrett Lashbrook, James Lashbrook, and Rebecca Jane Lashbrook.

George W Lashbrook died in 1893 in Coles County, Illinois. He was buried in Patsey Mitchell Cemetery.

     Marsham Brashear was born circa 1752 in Prince George County, Maryland. He was the son of Benjamin Brashear VII and Catherine Belt. Marsham Brashear married Lucy Phelps in 1779 in Bear Grass, Jefferson County, Kentucky. Marsham was one of the original settlers of Jefferson County, Kentucky. He was also one of the signers of a petition entitled "An Act for Establishing the Town of Louisville at the Falls of the Ohio" which was passed on 1 May 1780 by the Legislature of Virginia. The act also established Marsham as one of the trustees of the land whcih consisted of 1000 acres, originally the property of John Connolly, adjoining the lands of John Campbell and unidentified Taylor. On 7 February 1781 Marsham, along with the other trustees of the property which formed Louisville, held their first meeting.

Marsham Brashear died circa 1807 in Kentucky.

The total value including land, buildings, machinery and livestock was 1,320 dollars. Livestock included three horses and three milk cows which produced 150 pounds of butter the previous year. The farm also included 10 swine and 50 chickens which produced 200 eggs. During the previous year 15 acres of land were used to produce 300 bushels of indian corn, 3 acres were used to produce 40 bushels of oats, and 6 acres produced 107 bushels of wheat. Additional crop produced 4,000 pounds of tobacco. Three acres of land held 16 apple trees and bee hives which produced 200 pounds of honey.
