She worked with the Children of the American Revolution on the state level at Grenada, Grenada County, Mississippi. She was a member of the Lakewood Independent Methodist Church. She was widowed with the death of Jack Addison Yates on 29 January 1976 at Grenada, Grenada County, Mississippi.

Robert Milling Nason was a Presbyterian, having joined the old Hope Presbyterian Church at about age twenty. When that church was closed, he joined the Spring Hill Methodist Church. He married Mary Ida Williams on 5 November 1873 at Grenada County, Mississippi; in her parent's home, Bellevue. Robert Milling Nason appeared on the census of 1880 at Grenada County, Mississippi; enumerated 4 June. R. M. Nason was enumerated as head of household, age 27 and a farmer. Ida Nason, was enumerated as his wife, age 26. Include in the household were three daughters; Nora R. age six, Cora M. age four and Blanch W. age two. He appeared on the census of 1900 at Grenada County, Mississippi; enumerated 21 June. Robert M. Nason was enumerated as age 47, head of household and a farmer. Ida Nason was enumerated as his wife, age 46 and the mother of nine children with eight living. They were living on the farm they owned free of mortgage. Included in the household were two sons and five daughters. The sons were enumerated as Joe age 14, a farm laborer and Fred age 6. Both had attended school for four months. The daughters were enumerated as; Cora age 23, a school teacher; Blanche age 21, a school teacher; Jesse age 12; Lucy age 9 and Mary age one. Jesse and Lucy had attended school for four months. He was a farmer at Grenada County, Mississippi.

Robert Milling Nason died on 8 April 1909 at Grenada County, Mississippi, at age 56; at his home near Dubard. Funeral services were held on 9 April 1909 at Spring Hill Methodist Church, Grenada, Grenada County, Mississippi; conducted by Rev. W. G. Burks. He was buried on 9 April 1909 at Spring Hill Church Cemetery, Grenada, Grenada County, Mississippi.
